Numbers surround us, sometimes more than others. I took this panorama while out participating in the Amateur Radio Route 66 on the Air Special Event.

Modern HAM radio is digital intensive particularly when operating mobile. We are surrounded by numbers that must be constantly monitored and interpreted, even when communicating by voice (phone mode).

I took this pano inside the cab of my Ford F-150 during the event. Number sets that can be seen include; an iPhone with call sign spots (dates/times/callsigns), an iPad used as a digital clock with both local and universal time displayed, an automobile GPS, a screwdriver antenna elevation display, a Yaesu 859D all-band amateur radio w/digital display, a US citizens band radio with analog & digital displays, an Apple MacBook running 6m ham radio meteor scatter software, a SignaLink radio to computer interface, a linear amplifier control head with analog display, and a 2KW antenna tuner with numerous setting circles. All this in addition to the normal number displays fond in automobiles (temperature, speed, voltage, pressure, compass, digital stereo display, etc). In addition, I manually log radio contacts on paper and includes times, calls, frequencies, etc.

A veritable cornucopia of numbers surrounding me.
