This waterfall is the middle of a path through one of the many public parks in Curitiba. This one is special because was built up to render homage to Chico Mendes, an agricultor of Amazonas who was killed in 1988. He was a landmark (no pun intended) of the preservation actions in Brazil. He was just a rubber gatherer, but tried on his most to defend the Amazon Forest from uncontrolled exploitation - unfortunately, this brought also his death.
