Every year nature puts on a stunning show of bluebells only a matter of minutes drive from where I live. These extend from a meadow through into woodland. Almost every year I try to capture a new panoramic view in the meadow showing the sea of blue, it's a view good enough to have printed onto canvases and hung on my living room wall. However this year I decided to try something different.

Before I shot this I had visited the woodland to wander around to find a suitable location. When I found here I knew it had to be shot at sunset capturing the light shinning through the trees and casting shadows. At that moment there were so many colours from the greens and browns of the trees and leaves through to the blue disappearing into the distance.

This panorama shows the beauty than nature can produce right on peoples doorsteps and how easily it can be missed by not venturing off the well trodden path.
