Málaga, founded by the phoenicians in VIII BC, can boast of being one of the most ancient cities in Europe, but only a few remains have been left from that old time. After that, almost all the major civilizations have left their mark here: Greeks, Romans, Muslims and Christians, the old world and the modern one. Such cultural heritage gives the city a special richness.

A panoramic view from Gibralfaro, the Muslim citadel, shows some of this unique mix: the bullring -bullfighting (las corridas de toros) being so deeply rooted here-, the Catholic Cathedral, the the roman theatre -not visible in this panorama- or the Muslim Alcaba and Nazari palaces mixed with the modern city.
