I have chosen atmosphere as in weather for this theme. The weather has been changing in Vancouver....

<bleak>This winter (so far) has been plagued by the elements and blessed with very little sunshine. After a hot and dry summer the rain came in buckets, early November. Since then, often in up to 20 consecutive days and nights from drizzle to gushes. It is still raining today as I am preparing this contribution.

A few days in between we have had snow storms, floodings, flash floods, massive landslides, drinking water (turbid) advisory, hurricane-like gusts blowing over thousands of old growth trees and leaving 250.000 homes in the cold without electricity for up to days. Not to mention the damage done to people, property and environment. Costs running in the hundreds of millions of dollars because of weather (atmosphere).

Sounds like regular seasonal life in hurricane regions, does it not? But it's Vancouver. The great Canadian northwest metropole in British Columbia with a population of 2,116,582 million (census 2006).

Here is some interesting info on the possibly inevitable impacts of climate change on Vancouver: Science of Climate Change</bleak>

I have proposed a wind mill for the north shore in the pano to make some use of the changing atmosphere.
