After a long grey winter, Holland enjoyed one of its first blue days of 2007. Fully blue? No. Being part of Europe's most densily populated area, Holland suffers from air pollution (especially fine dust, released a.o. by industry and several kinds of traffic). An atmosphere without contrails is a rarity these days. This link shows a map of air pollution in Europe, in terms of loss in life expectancy attributable to exposure to fine particulate matter: http://ec.europa.eu/environment/air/cafe/general/pdf/map_pm.pdf
