Caption
This pano was shot at the Santa Pola Salt Lakes Nature Reserve in Elche's Lagoon. This water reserve is not only home to many local species, but is also an important winter rest and pit-stop on the migration pathway of many birds on their way from northern Europe to Africa.

The foreground of the image shows a recently refurbished watchtower, from the 16th Century, known as Torre del Tamarit. Sunsets at this spot with the reflections on the ponds and the misty look of the Vega Baja mountain range at the background always makes this a very pleasant view to watch.
