The cave temperature is the average local temperature of the atmosphere, so the cave temperature is generally connected with the external climate and it changes with the changes of the climate temperatures. The global climatic changes can then change also the underground climate. When the denudation processes open the roof of the cave as it is example from »Gypsy Cave« then the temperature of the cave follows the daily temperature changes.

Željnske jame (Gypsy Cave) is about 1600 m long horizontal cave system nearby Kočevje, at the edge of the settlement Željne. Caves are shallow the surface. The roof is only 2-5 metre thick. Numerous sinkholes had divided the cave into three groups of galleries.
