On a recent trip to Australia and New Zealand, I visited Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park to see the sacred Aboriginal rock formation known as Uluru (formerly Ayes Rock). It is a huge rock dome that rises from the flat surrounding plain. We parked near the rock and hiked along a trail to a viewing area in a shallow cave. Although not visible in the panorama, there are ancient Aboriginal paintings on the roof of the cave.
