Simon and I have known each other for 20 years through our interest in photography, from kites and many other forms of off-the-wall techniques.

We got together in Simon's Studio for a technology exchange:

Simon used 19 century colodian/tinplate technology to take a portrait of me with my nodal mount and tripod. The image produced directly onto a metal "tinplate" backing is unique, and not easy to copy.

I used a panoramic head to return the compliment.with this portrait using 21 century panorama techniques of the 19 century studio. The resulting image is viewed by computer processing and is infinitely reproducable, it is shown above.

Neat.

In Memory of "Mr Blue Sky Thinker", the man who most supported me to take aerial photographs from a kite, when drones hadn't been invented. You may have noticed that over 90% of the panoramas taken here are aerials, and not a drone to be found anywhere.
