Tottenham Locks on the River Lee, London. The River Lee originates at Luton in the chalk beds of the northeast Chiltern Hills and flows generally east and then south to London where it meets the River Thames. Once an important commercial waterway, certain sections were canalised as part of the River Lee Navigation. There are two channels in this lock, the nearest channel is no longer in use and the gates on the working channel have been replaced with steel.
