Since Portugal is famous for its beaches, and I practically grew up in one, a beach was my first idea for "water". I was afraid there might be too many of them, so I started thinking about alternatives. But during the shooting period I was taking a short break at the beach, so here is one of our beautiful beaches after all. I had to wait until late afternoon to avoid the crowds, and get a nice low tide, but I think it was worth it.

Actually, there is more water here than just the ocean: there's the clouds, of course, and the small tidal pools, but also the sand and the rocks. The sand was formed in no small part by the sea, and accumulated on the beach by its currents. The algae and small animals living on the rocks wouldn't be there if not for the tides. The rocks themselves are also reminders of water and its life, as they are sedimentary, and rests of seashells are clearly visible, even during a casual stroll on the beach, although not at the resolution of this pano. They can be seen in other images taken the same day, available at http://alf1.cii.fc.ul.pt/~pedro/Photos/Panoramas/wwp605/ .
