This family run business shares its passion for gardening with a commitment to traditional values of excellent quality and first class service. Lady Green Garden Centre began as a ploughed field in 1985, when Philip Allison was running his own landscaping business but had decided he wanted to develop his own retail nursery, hoping to utilise fully his extensive knowledge and qualified experience in horticulture. He and his wife Susan – a trained Legal Secretary - searched for and bought land, on which they built a shed, a glasshouse and erected a few tunnels. They both worked solidly and unrelentingly, digging by hand, driving machinery and worked from dawn until dusk dawn to fulfil their original dream. On the 26th April 1986, Lady Green Nurseries began its life and was officially opened by the deputy mayor at the time, Jean Lessop.
