The Palmetum at the Caracas Botanical Garden is one of the most spectacular and interesting sectors of this institution. Four thousand palms of 250 different species can be seen here, making it one of the most important collections in Latin America. Located in the middle of the city, this garden is both an oasis and a respected investigation and conservation center. It was established in 1944 and covers 70 hectares. The garden is part of the Ciudad Universitaria de Caracas, which was included in the World Heritage List by UNESCO in 2000.Location
