What is a Bongo ? Its a Multi Purpose vehicle, exported from Japan to many parts of the world often to be used as a Camper Van due to its very popular elevating roof. It is very popular in the UK where its Fan Club has elevated the vehicles status to surprising levels. The event pictured here was the UK National Rally or Bongo Bash 2008 where well over the 207 bookings were supplemented by quite a few more ad-hoc visitors who turned up on the various days!! Discussions of both the vehicle and the event take place on the forum here.

The Kite flying seemed to fit well with the original intention of highlighting how an everyday object can have its status raised to cult level, with the added aspect of the elevating roof!
