Although they don't have the resolution of my Seiko wristwatch (measuring time in years rather than 1/10 of a second), trees are natures timekeepers.

The two evergreen trees depicted in this panorama were planted in the front yard of my parent's house in 1965 when I was 5 years old. At that time they were 18" tall.
