I believe that there are similar rituals and places to put our deceased loved ones for an eternal rest, at least in most of the western part of the World.
Just by reading the names of the different families that are engraved on the mausoleums, one could guess where this graveyard is located. While the cemetery of my hometown is not uniquely typical of this southern region of France, the patronymic words on the walls tell all to the knowledgeable.
