Vail Village Comes Alive! Virtually anywhere on the surface of Earth, life begins with sunshine. Here in Vail at 2,670 m at 7:15 am, the cold crisp air warms, dewey meadows dry, and the evergreens stand taller as the piercingly hot Sun breathes new life into all. The Sun sustains all, and here in Vail in the Spring, Summer and Fall especially, sunshine and warmth turn this sleepy little ski resort destination into a teaming Summer village offering hiking, climbing, river rafting, canoeing, biking and more to sustain it until the Winter crowds return again for what it's famous for; skiing. And that is when I will return again. (Note: this is only a part of Vail really. Vail Village is off in the Sunrise, and is the shopping/activity center, but this rooftop view is much better for sunrise and shows off the mountain where you can make out ski trails and the Eagle Bahn Gondola line.)
