Even tho dinosaurs became extinct 66 million years ago their remains are still with us. These skeletons are located at the premier Museum of Natural History in Mesa Arizona. In Dinosaur Hall there are some of the largest dinosaurs that ever lived. In this museum you can explore ancient Arizona's Paleozoic Seas, Triassic Petrified Forests, monsters of the Cretaceous Seas, and the very first animals to fly. The museum was founded in 1977 with a small collection of Arizona artifacts in a building that was originally constructed in 1937. Since then the museum has expanded to it's present size of 74,000 square feet. The museum now has prominent research curators in the fields of paleontology and archeology/anthropology. Over the years attendance has gown to over 135,000 visitors a year.
