On our vacation in the Adirondacks this August, my wife and I had a very crowded lunch at the tiny summit of Castle Rock, in the central Adirondack Mountains of New York. Though it is a very small peak, it nonetheless affords spectacular views over Blue Mountain Lake. Because of the relatively easy hike to the summit and its proximity to several hotels and a Syracuse University conference center, the vista is quite popular, drawing significantly larger numbers of people than we had expected, particularly on a Monday.

Because of the the number of people at the summit, I was unable to set up a tripod and shot this panorama handheld, and was surprised that PTGui was able to stitch it fairly easily.
