Caption

Scooter Boy was shot with a Nikon D200, 10.5 Nikkor lens and a 360 Precision Pano Head. The "scooter boy" was my 12-year-old son, Travis. He takes direction pretty well so I actually had him do 6 passes hitting the same mark as close as possible. Before shooting the live action I shot one pano clean with no action. Then I shot 5 frames per second as the scooter boy entered the frame at 6 different positions. I would look at each pass before rotating the camera. I did about 3 takes at each position, so I would have about 15-20 shots for each position that I could use for stitching. I use PTGui for stitching. I made a clean pano first. I added the top and bottom photos and then this pano was the base for adding the action. Using the multiple exposures I would first create a multiple exposure photo at each position. Then I would take these photos and swap them out in the PTGui template. Some in between blending at the seams would take place and I would sometimes go back and look at another take to see what lined up better. The sky clouds were added later.
