English:

Here we are in Cividale del Friuli, a charming small town in East Friuli: more precisely we are in the absis of the “Oratorio” of Santa Maria in Valle, best known as “Tempietto Longobardo” which was probably built around mid VIII century. At front you may see some columns supporting vaults with iconostasis, then you will find wooden stalls aging end '300-mid '400, and a small pillar with a choir-desk with its basis decorated with an eagle, a latin cross, a palm and other vegetals. On the upper part of the west wall (the one with the entrance door) you can see the remaining six plaster statues, aging to VIII too, about two meters tall, surrounded by horinzontal lilied battens: some of them has still coloured glasses in the middle. Over the door there is an arched plaster decoration with wine twigs enclosing a fresco representing Christo Logos. Hereinafter you may find a link to another pano taken among the wooden stalls. http://www.robedimank.com/TempiettoCoro2.mov

Italiano:
