The Dominican Republic is in the heart of the Caribbean in Latin America. It is famous with over one thousand miles of beaches and palm trees. This panorama was taken in Juan Dolio which is a thirty minute drive along the shoreline from the Capital City of Santo Domingo. This is a wonderful place to sit under a coconut palm and peacefully watch time pass with the breaking of each sparkling wave. The sand is fluffy white and in the month of March the Sun is positioned for basking.

That is me sitting under the palm tree. This was my first trip away from my home country of Turkey. The winter cold and the big city rush of Istanbul were far from my mind as I looked at the beauty of another part of the world.

This panorama reveals a great memory for me; therefore, I have submitted it as my best panorama of the year for 2008.
