The nighttime is sometimes the only time of my „privacy“ - daytime is usually vivid with the work and family obligations. Alps are only 20 min. car drive from my home. That's the advantage of living in a small country which is also geographically very diverse … e.g. I can be within one hour of car drive at the Adriatic Sea or climbing in a karst area on the west of the country. It was less than a week to my 52nd birthday, the day was very intense so I just needed to „quit“ the city and suburbia. It was already evening and I decided for a night hike/climbing to Rinke peaks – about 5-6 hours of climbing with all equipment needed for the photography and to survive the cold night, although I intended to oversleep in a bivouac at Mali podi. There is no marked trail up but it was not the first time for me to climb this quite steep mountain slope. The billion star hotel waited me after few hours of climbing, the precious time for internal thoughts and clearance. I sometimes really like being alone, doesn't matter cave or mountains...
