We wanted to be quite high up in the mountains on this beautiful day, so we decided to use the cable way to Hohsaas, which is situated at 3200 m below the Weismies (4017 m) with a magnificent view on 17 more mountains above 4000 m.

Equipment

Canon EOS 5DII, Samyang 12mm, SNS-HDR lite, PTGui Pro, Photoshop

How this panorama was made

This is not an ordinary panorama shot. When I came to the tiny hillock, I had troubles to find a suitable place for the panorama, because I didn't want to have an ugly monument in the view, which occupied the highest point.

So I decided to shoot a multi viewpoint panorama, like I did for the Sidelhorn gigapixel some years ago. I walked around the hillock and shot handheld bracketed sequences in the hope to be able to stitch them later. The parallax was quite enormous, but PTGui 12 managed to stitch this almost seamlessly. I shot a total of 129 images, from which I used 51 (17 sets bracketed at 2EV) in the end.
