These festive lights in Bowring Park are an annual tradition that begins in mid-December and carries through January. I try to capture this every year at different viewing locations. This scene was taken the night after our first snow fall of the season. The night air was quite cold, but the winds were helpfully light. The park was crowded with families and their pets. The power of photo masking prevails! I chose this as the Best of 2024 because of the great feeling that comes from capturing the beauty of these lights while preserving the detail of the surrounding trees, water and sky.
