Looking down you will see two brass plates commemorating Abraham Neumark and Ludwig Meyer, who were both deported and killed by the Nazis. 

These brass plates are called "Stolpersteine" or stumbling stones. The artist Gunter Demnig initiated this project in 1992. Today you will find Stolpersteine in more than 1200 places all over Europe.
