You would not exactly expect a forest on a Frisian Island in the Wadden Sea, would you? Well then! In the 1860s a forestry director from Hanover came to the island as a tourist and decided to plant some pines, birch and oak trees there. The locals from the island followed his example so by now there really exists a small forest on the island.Yes, it is a very little forest. But then again – who would expect a forest on a Frisian Island anyhow?
