Organic seedlings of a variety of herbs grow in a greenhouse of the Nursery Friedbert Deggelmann: parsley, marjoram, dill, sage, lovage, lemon balm, rosemary, chervil, thyme, coriander, tarragon and peppermint. They are all used as a seasoning for food, most of these are also considered as medicinal plants.

The Reichenau is an island in the Lake Constance and is listed as a World Heritage site because of its monastery and churches. The mild climate, due to the vicinity of the great lake and the foehn from the Alps, makes three crops of vegetables per year possible. A sixth of the overall land used for agriculture is located inside greenhouses.
