Any images taken from a single viewpoint, even spherical panoramas, contain no information about the scale of the things they present. Scale is determined by our brain, by our knowledge about the world. We compare objects of known size and their depth position to estimate the size of unknown objects. A shadow cast on the street suggest the object actually is there and some branches in front of it tells us it must be behind them. An easy to fool mechanism: Some toy cars on the street only a few centimeters high in reality and a Lego tower in our garden would be easy to believe if they weren't completely unlikely. Be aware: sometimes it's harder to distinguish between truth and lies.

Behind the scene : how this panorama was made
No special techniques where used to put the Lego toys where they are. The panorama was shot as usual. The tower and the cars where put on a white board and held in front of the lens such that they are in the places where they are visible. Such the cast shadow is more or less natural. These images where used twice: One cropped to the toys and one painted all white but the shadows, then inverted and used as a mask to darken the original panorama in order to get realistic shadows. The hardest work was to mask the shrub to appear in front of the truck. That's all.
