This location is on the Inner Ring Road in the City of Derby.
It is where Ford Street (A601) meets with Agard Street (A52), you can also see the end of Cavendish Street. The white building with the rounded corner is an abandoned pub called The Late Bar.
Originally opened as the Vine public house in 1835 and remained open until 1992 when it was refurbished and reopened as The Late Bar in 1994 and closed about 2004. As you can see as I took this 360 they are putting up for sale signs on that building, so this will soon be changing again.
Friar Gate Studios opened in November 2006 : Friar Gate Studios is home to some of Derby’s most exciting young creative businesses – web and fashion designers, film and radio producers, advertising agencies, architects and many more. Together, they represent the ‘creative industries’, one of the fastest growing business sectors in the region.
The distinctive Copper building is One Friar Gate Square and opened in Spring 2013.
The inner ring road here has 5 lanes, A decade ago it was a one-way road with 4 lanes, This section of Derby's inner ring-road became two way in February 2011.
I wonder what changes we will see in this location in the next decade?
