Winters in upstate New York tend to be long, so my wife and I took up snowshoeing as another way to get outside and enjoy the winter instead of feeling miserable about it. The winter of 2014-2015, while warmer than usual for most of the world, was colder than usual in the Mid-West and Northeast United States. February 2015 was one of the coldest on record where we live, without a single day above freezing. The benefit was that without a thaw of any sort, there was always snow for snowshoeing. I shot this panorama after one such outing, at a favorite nearby park, just after one of many snowstorms this winter.
