Once upon a time there was a 100 year old factory building with two potteries, two painting artists studios, an illustrator, a web designer and our guitar and lutherie shop, showing here as a ghostly image on the current view.

Built in 1905 as a chocolate factory, the building was a fine example of industrial brick architecture. In 2010, the owner decided to sell it. He declined the offer of the renters because he felt obliged to sell it to Schwarzwaldmilch, which then demolished it for a parking lot (you can see it through the building). Apart of that the street didn't change much. The car dealer vis-à-vis is now SsangYong and Lada instead of Deawoo and we moved a few hundred meters down the road.

How this panorama was made

This is a composite of two panoramas, one taken 2004 with a Peleng 8mm lens on analog film, the other 2017 with a Samyang 12mm on EOS 5D2. Unfortunately I couldn't shoot from the very same viewpoint due to the fence, I had to stay about half a meter nearer to the tree.

Originally I wantet to show the old panorama only, but due to it's low resolution (actually smaller than one image from the 5D2) and for comparison I decided to show the current situation and to overlay the old buidling (with 80% layer opacity).
