Yerkes Observatory is located in Williams Bay Wisconsin on the shoreline of Lake Geneva. The observatory houses the world’s largest refracting telescope. It was founded in 1897 by astronomer George Ellery Hale and financed by businessman Charles T. Yerkes. In latter years ownership was passed over to the University of Chicago. The University of Chicago recently sold the property to Mirbeau Company which is interested in developing the lakeshore property. Mirbeau agreed to a provision that the observatory and surrounding 30 archers would be preserved.
Equipment
Nikon D70 with Nikon 10.5mm lens, Nodal Ninja indexing head, Photoshop, PTMac.
