Kyungbokgung is a large rectangular area in the center of Seoul occupying 5.4 million square feet. The palace area has many interlinking buildings and gardens.
Unfortunately the main garden which was my primary "shooting range" for the WWP was closed for renovations, so I shot this panorama located in the northernmost part of the garden area.

Some historical info:
Kyungbokgung was the main palace during the Joseon Dynasty's 500 year history (1392-1910). It was built in 1395 by King Lee Seong-Gye (King Taejo), when he moved the capital city from Gyeseong to Seoul. The word 'Kyungbok' translates to 'Shining Happiness'. The name was given as a tribute to the happiness and prosperity of Joseon's Kings, and the Korean people.
