The street sundial, near molen De Valk in Leiden, indicates the Leiden time. This time is based on the geographical location of Leiden and lags about 36 minutes behind Middle European Time.

The outer scale shows the Middle European Winter Time, 10 past 11 in the morning (the hour indicator is to the left of the number). On the street clock opposite the sundial, you can see that the actual time of taking the panorama was 10 minutes past midday, Middle European Summer Time.

Time is a relative concept. Will we ever be able to really understand this concept? Only time will tell...
