Theme
The church was built in 1884, and was the last icelandic turf church built in the old style. It is one of six churches which are preserved as historical monuments. The church is maintained by the National Museum of Iceland and also serves as a parish church.This church is one out of a series of 14 sites which were proposed as future world heritage sites in 2011. As I travelled around Iceland near summer solstice, I was able to shoot a panoramic image at three of the sites. But the spherical of Hofskirkja was the only one which I did during the shooting period. But you can see a spherical of the turf farm Glaumbær and another spherical of turf church Víðimýrarkirkja at 360cities.net.
Making Of
The shooting was done with a monopod. On top of that I used a custom-made bracket. The bracket allows me to mount the lens in a fashion so I can turn around the no-parallax point of the lens.As the lens is a fisheye lens, four pictures easily cover 360°. To be sure I took three exposures at each direction. The exposures were 0.7 f-stops apart. The best exposed set was chosen before stitching.
