The call went out. We need Scarves. We've got 22 youngsters who are overdue to be invested into our Sea Scout Group and we need Scarves and we haven't got anyone to make them.

Well I did some sewing 30 odd years ago so I volunteered. With a borrowed sewing machine and some help from another Leader we got them made.

Scarves (Neckerchiefs) are the most recognisable symbol of the Scouting Movement, it contains the Heritage of the local Group as well as the movement as a whole. You don't need your uniform on, just the Scarf, and everyone knows you're a Scout
