At the Mohegan Sun Casino there is glass everywhere as functional architectural components. It also has a glass sculpture centerpiece created by world-renowned artist Dale Chihuly.
Titled “River Blue,” the 10,000-pound glass artwork was created by combining thousands of colored glass components. 2,500 pieces in all were hand-blown by a group of artisans in Seattle, then assembled on-site at Mohegan Sun.
The glass sculpture measures fourteen feet in width and twenty-five feet high. It is made of cobalt blue and silver colored glass streamers that are shaped like a swirling fountain of water.
