The All-Ireland Gaelic Football final, Kerry vs Cork, was held in Dublin on Sunday 20th. The Gorringe Park is a small, friendly Irish pub in Tooting, South London, and the match was shown there - a very popular event. The bar got rather full, but friends had saved seats for my wife and me.This was the first time I'd seen a Gaelic football match, and it was quite an incredible experience. The game seems like a fast and furious blend of soccer, rugby and basketball. Cork started well but Kerry proved to have the edge, and won in a tense finish.
This panorama was shot moments after the end of the match. The Kerry supporters around us are showing their delight by cheering and waving a flag, a giant inflatable hand, and a green-and-yellow feather boa - which is being wrapped around a Cork supporter.
