Trinidad Bay is a natural anchorage protected from ocean swells behind Trinidad Head. Coastal Yurok people lived peacefully by the bay and fished for hundreds of years prior to the arrival of European settlers. Each of the rocks in the bay has a Yurok name and a story to go with it. Opposite the bay is a prominent rock formation that the Yurok girls used to practice their traditional dances.Location
