This year the 25th anniversary of the German reunification is celebrated in Frankfurt am Main. Of course the reunification wouldn't have been possible without the peace between the two German states and their respective allies. The panorama shows the installation of the "Einheitsmännchen" on the Römerberg in Frankfurt am Main. The sculptures were designed by artist Ottmar Hörl because of the anniversary.

Making Of

The shooting was done with a 3 meter (appx. 10 ft) pole to reach a more elevated viewpoint. The lens was mounted with a custom-made bracket. Stitched from five images taken with a Walimex (Samyang) 7.5mm fish eye lens on a Sony QX1. Four images around and an additional image for the nadir. The zenith was retouched by hand in post-processing.

Lens: Samyang 7mm/3.5 UMC fisheye (lens hood shaved, MFT lens adapted for Sony E-mount)

Mounting: Custom-made lens bracket mounted on top of a 3.10 m (appx. 10 ft) monopod

Software: PTGui Pro, Smartblend, Photoshop CC, Pano2VR
