Introduction

The theme for the 3rd quarter of 2017 is “Wood”, closing the overarching idea of a Year of Building Materials for 2017.

Theme Essay: Wood

The essay conveys the team’s idea of the event. It is usually published together with the Theme announcement and offers a starting point for the contributing photographers.

“Wood” – The theme’s main tie-in with our “Year of Building Materials” is the use of wood and woodwork in the constrution of shelter and housing. In keeping with the rather open interpretation of themes at the World Wide Panorama, if you find it more inspiring to think of trees in their natural form than as part of a man-made structure, that’s fine, too!
