I grew up in the rented flat in the left part of this house until we moved towards the end of my school years. The location, with its unique view over Lake Zurich to the Glarus Alps and the small town of Rapperswil, is truly special. The group of buildings once served as a winery. A few years ago, the land with the group of houses was sold. The buildings then stood empty for a long time, and the former vegetable garden in front of the house became overgrown. A few weeks after this photo was taken, poles were erected to indicate the dimensions of the planned new buildings. In the meantime, the houses in the picture have disappeared, making way for a large building site. I am therefore pleased that I captured this panorama, which reminds me of my childhood here, before this major change took place.
