Ample choice of fish at only one of many mongers' booths. The Rotterdam Market isn't limited to just fish - or even food though; across an isle of a fishmonger and a cheese booth you may very well find a cloth or houseplant vendor.

The variation, quality and surprisingly low prices of food is what makes this market interesting to many people from all around Rotterdam. The variation can be explaned in part by the wide range of nationalities of the people living in Rotterdam.

When shooting the panorama, I was completely unaware that Paul Martens was shooting his panorama only about 100 meters away from my location.

Behind the scene : how this panorama was made
Got a number of good shots that day (dutch people eating 'haring' etc), but unfortunately the dog ate my homework... Or rather, my compact flash card gave up and ate alll my photos of the day :-( Card is broken, photo's gone.

So this panorama is a backup I shot on the only other flash card I had on me. It was rather underexposed, but turned out nice anyway. I like fish...
