Caption

The sun is setting behind the distinct shape of Mont Ventoux, the "Giant of Provence" with the characteristic steep slope to the north and a very long and shallow slope to the south.

We are on the Montagne de Bergies, where an astronomical observatory, some buildings and lots of antennas and cables are on the top. None of those are visible in the panorama, since I walked around the summit shooting in all directions, just as I did for my contributions "Below Weissmies", "Walmendinger Horn" or the much older "Sidelhorn" panorama. But for none of those was the shooting position distance as large as for that one: 135 meters off the no-parallax-point.
