Caption
This is a panorama shot in Mount Stewart's Garden, Co Down, N Ireland, the house is formerly the home of the Lord Londonderry. The Londonderry's were in the 1930s a very politically important (in UK terms) family; however since then circumstances have changed and the house is in the care of the National Trust.

The gardens enjoy a unique subtropical climate - specific to the locale and on this basis a variety of plants and trees can be be found in them that cannot be grown even a few miles away. Besides all of this the gardens are as informal as such 'formal' gardens get, and have a true sense of fun about them - as shown by the concrete animals evident in the panorama.
