Bird Island Sanctuary (East of Isla Holbox, Mexico) serves as a migratory flyway crossroad for different bird species between Texas, USA, and South America.

Visitors are provided a large bird watch tower because they are not allowed on the island. My panorama is approximately 15' (3m) above the Gulf of Mexico.

When we first arrived the walkway handrails were lined with 75 to 100 Frigate Birds. These birds had a wing span of 3-4 feet. They have a notable hook beak suitable for ripping flesh and preening their feathers after a meal.
