Storm Water Management ponds are a necessity in our modern world. These ponds allow rain water and melting snow to collect and run through a series of ponds and marshes to remove particulate matter.

This pond is the top of 3 that run parallel to Ontario highway 417 and helps to clean runoff from the highway and arterial roads in Kanata before the water enters Watt's Creek and the Ottawa River.

These ponds are home to many species of birds including red wing black birds, herons, Canada geese and ducks. The trail around the pond is enjoyed by the local community.
