Among Taiwanese folk religions exists some small ancestral halls which is for the burial of uncollected remains. They can be seen on the side of the road, in fields, on hills, near grave mounds and even in small villages and cities.

A single headstone is often placed in front of the burial mounds. On it will be written "Convergence of All Goodness (萬善同歸, Wan Shan Tong Gui)".

Most believers think that wandering ghosts bring wealth and fortune. Hence, among the worshipers there are many gamblers. This is why wandering ghost temples always have incense burning and entertainment performances in them day and night after grand lottery became popular.

Mortality meaning the state or condition of being subject to death, in another concept that may also meaning another unknown beginning of reincarnation.
